ST. WENCESLAS FESTIVITIES

St. Wenceslas Festivities is an international festival of sacred arts melting all streams of Prague cultural base: Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Protestantism and Hebraism, crossing over various cultures and genres. During its 19 years of existence it became an essential part of Prague's cultural autumn.

The festival is organized by Sacred Music Society. Our mission is to present sacred music and other arts to general public at its highest possible level of quality. To do so, we go beyond inviting the best available musicians – for our events we always book appropriate premises from those most charming and usually closed to public spaces the Golden city of Prague can offer.

We are proud to have regular patronage of His Eminence Archbishop Dominik Duka, support of Capital City of Prague as well as recognition from the Council of Europe and other important official institutions.

The schedule is framed by two major Czech saint's days: end is scheduled around September 28th, when Wenceslas himself, as the most important Czech saint and Patron of Czech lands is celebrated, and the festival starts before September 16th, when we celebrate Wenceslas grandmother Ludmila, the first Czech female saint.
